Frontyard Residency I

This summer we were over the moon to see the forthcoming Making Time book start to take shape, in a micro-residency at our favourite not-just-artist-run space, Frontyard. Hiding out from the Marrickville sun listening to podcasts like this, Susie & Tessa drew one jar of every batch produced so far, scenes of pickling debris and ingredients from Finland to Woolloomooloo, and participants’ recipes  and responses, scrawled, borrowed or emailed.

We’ll be back again in April for the final stage – laying out the pages, working on the cover, contents and title pages, and then riso printing and sewing it all together in time for the end-of-May zine fairs (eeek).

Stay tuned for an autumn book launch!!19It’s looking to be a solid little book with around 80-pages, made entirely by us in a limited edition of 200 – email travellingpreserves@gmail if you want us to put aside a copy.

Thanks again Frontyard and thanks to the National Association for the Visual Arts – NAVA for continuing to support artist projects like this (you can sign their current petition for Fair Pay for Artists here).
